Last year’s album by Ólafur Arnalds really got me back into the world of hybrid classical. Granted the album has some points that don’t work for me, I find that Arnalds’ more positive orchestral sections are falling just over the line that I would regard as cheesy (when the beat comes in midway through the title track I can’t help but cringe a little), but overall it is a beautifully created and mixed album.
